Virtual Demolition - Implemented New Systems

Hello¡

The work of all this week is paying off, the drone of which we speak in that post is now the player himself, and now can not be put explosives in the air, now it attach to the columns, these new systems require a drastic change at the core of the game, the system of safe areas, and the time for the burn of the explosives, must be completely rethought.

This will open the way to new tactics, we want players to think before they act, they have to think, otherwise not achieve pass the level.

Very soon we will raise a new video that show the new systems in action. Thanks¡

Virtual Demolition - Crowdfunding Campaing

Hello everyone!

Perhaps you have come to this blog through our IndieGoGo campaign, you probably already know many of the things that we will discuss now, but for those who do not know, as we explain here.

A crowdfunding campaign needs a reason to be created, our reason is that we have basically two obstacles, if you read our previous post, you should know that we live in Venezuela, this country is going through a severe economic crisis, Venezuela is in first place in the top of countries with the highest inflation in the world, in our country the possibility of obtaining dollars to a "normal" price is almost zero, and this has some impact on our project, one of our main goals is to place our game on Steam Greenlight, but to do this, we must pay before 100 USD, 100 USD in our country are nearly 10 months of work (because 1USD = 1000BsF and the salary of a month is 10.000BsF).

If that were not enough, we have another problem, as we discussed in our IndieGoGo Campaing, our computer supports the basic features of EU4, but for the most demanding tasks (physical simulations for example), gradually work is hindered, to the point of becoming impossible. More concretely, Our computer does not support the physical simulations of the largest structures we have built, this task requires a powerful CPU and our computer does not have this feature. In the following video you can observe the problem:

These are the Specs of our PC:

RAM: 6Gb DDR3 (2Gb + 4Gb)
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 5570 VRAM 1Gb GDDR3
CPU: Pentium(r) Dual-Core CPU E5700 3.00Ghz

Basically our problem is the inflation of the currency of our country, which does not allow us to overcome the two obstacles exposed, Steam Greelight access and develop very great levels for our game because our PC.

This is all for now, thanks for your attention.

Virtual Demolition - Developers

Hello again!

Our team consists of 3 members: Whitman Bohorquez, Olbert Bohorquez and Michael Cardenas. we live in Venezuela, Olbert and I are brothers. We know Michael for more than seven years ago, practically since we were children. as we grew up we begin to discover the great world of video games,, thanks to this hobby, we strengthened our friendship and caused in us very curious about how a game is developed, and that brought us to this place, with a game in hand and it will not be the only one to do.

I am Whitman Bohorquez, the programmer, I am 18 years old, I'm still a newbie, I need to learn many things, but with my current knowledge, I was able to program the entire core of the game, Interfaces, and everything that involves programming, everything I do is a new knowledge, I'm just starting the university, I study Computer Science, from very young, had planned to study this career, I really liked programming and logic has always been my strong point. A few months ago I found out that Unreal Engine 4 is free, and I do not hesitate to propose to my brother that we develop a video game, then we communicate our idea to Michael and everything started to happen.

My brother, Olbert bohorquez, he has 17 years old, is the opposite to me, is a creative guy, his passion is digital art, especially what is involved in interior design and digital architectural designs, this is because for some time now, he take the decision to study architecture. he and Michael always had a very strong friendship, talk a lot and share a long time. Olbert always has many good ideas, that always bring freshness to the team, he just out of high school, and in a few months he will go to study at the university.

Michael is our neighbor, it's only Son, this without doubt further strengthened our friendship, just as Olbert and I, he is also interested in the development of video games, the 3D design draw much him attention, and this point is essential for the team, Michael is responsible for designing meshes in Blender (a tool for 3d Design) and is really good at it, he and Olbert are the same age, for this reason their friendship is strong.

that's all for today, we have planned that the next entry is to discuss several points about the game and provide some useful information

What is Virtual Demolition

Virtual demolition is a first-person game in general is about to demolish structures with explosives, in order to obtain the necessary punctuation to unlock the next level. challenges players to think where to put all the explosives, which must be placed in strategic locations to demolish the structure completely.

The visual style of the game was designed with the aim to make the player believe that the game takes place in a computer simulation.

The game is currently in an advanced stage of development, the most important things such as the physic-based structures, the general operation of the interface (not the design), and some others that need to improve much as the system to put explosives, form the core of the game.

To achieve this we use Unreal Engine 4, which has all the amenities for indie developers like us, we can do high-level games without any complications.

This is the first entry in our blog, the next we talk about us, The developers.
